Movie News Roundup: Part 1
First I wanna make sure you know about two of my favorite blogs about all things Hollywood, Cinematical and TV Squad, which are part of Weblogs, Inc.
Kevin Smith Update
Clerks 2 comes outAugust 18th! See the trailer here. (EDIT: the release date has been moved up to July 21)
I can't make heads or tails of Southland Tales, which boasts quite a few SNL veterans. It's from the writer/director of Donnie Darko and that is not a good thing in my opinion. IMDB lists no US release date, but Europe gets it in the fall and the genre is "Comedy, Musical, Sci-fi, Thriller". There will be some graphic novels out leading up to the release date of the movie, but none are available on the official site yet.
Next year brings Catch and Release, where Smith plays a friend of widow Jennifer Garner along with Juliette Lewis and Timothy Olyphant. It comes out in February.
